Take A Kid to the Course

A promotion of the National Golf Course Owners’ Association and Participating Clubs. 
Sussex Golf and Curling Club will be offering free golf all week for each child under 16, accompanied by a paying adult (member or green fee-er). Club rental is also free, if available. Plan on bringing a youngster along with you that week!

 

Custom Bicycle Covered Bridge Tours

Tours can be arranged with rentals or self guided to see Covered Bridges on our scenic byways. Please call Outdoor Elements 506-433-3060 for info and reservations.

 

Custom Covered Bridge Canoe Tours

TUESDAY TO SATURDAY

Covered Bridge Postal Pictorial Cancellation Stamp
Let your friends know how much fun you are having while visiting Canada’s Covered Bridge Capital by having your letters and postcards home cancelled with a Covered Bridge Pictorial. Get this souvenir at the Norton Post Office, 223 Route #124, just 15 km west of Sussex.

Tea, lunches and a varied art display for view and sale. Stiles Museum, with its rich collection of Sussex items, is a must.

 

TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY

2nd Annual Antique Quilt Show                                           12 pm to 4 pm
St Francis Xavier Hall, Church Ave., Sussex.

Presented by the Sussex & Area Pregnancy Centre.

Enjoy these Antique Quilts, topped off with Strawberry Shortcake, Tea and Coffee for $5.00.

 

WEDNESDAY

Covered Bridge Tea           2 pm  and 3 pm  sittings.                             
Presented by the Sussexvale District Women’s Institute at the Salmon River Covered Bridge, Four Corners. From Exit 195, to route 890, 1.5 km.
Tickets $6 at the Bridge.
Enjoy home baked treats and sandwiches served up in a Covered Bridge!

 

FRIDAY

Sussex Farmer’s Market    Noon to 7 pm
60 Maple Ave., Next to Post Office.

There’re over 40 vendors to serve you fresh and cooked seasonal produce, seafood, meats, and fresh baked goodies. There are plants and crafts available. Come and have lunch or supper and maybe win a prize.

 

SATURDAY

J. D. O’Connell Gumdrop Picnic               2 pm to 4 pm
O’Connell Park, Main Street, Sussex
Sponsored by Kings County Big Brothers/Big Sisters, this is a picnic for young children similar to ones put on by Mr. O’Connell, an early local philanthropist, after whom the park was named. All young children are invited for 2 PM. Y’all come and have fun.
